The Door Was Open

by:

The door was open.

I was walking without heading anywhere when I saw the house. It was bigger from what I remembered, or so it looked.

I got closer to it, while I was remembering everything I’ve heard about that house when I lived in the city, long time ago.

I pressed the doorbell, but I didn’t hear any sound, so I knocked the door. When I did, I noticed it wasn’t closed. I pushed it and came in.

“An ordinary and common house”, I tought. The door closed behind me. I turned over, scared, but I understood it should be the wind.

-What can I do for you?- I heard the voice of an old woman upstairs.
-Oh, sorry, Mrs, the door was open and...- I answered nervous.
-But now it’s closed, right?
-Well, yeah, it looks like the wind closed it...
-Oh, of course, the wind... you should be more careful, youngster...
-Well now, excuse me, I’ve got to go now...- I said, opening the door.

“An ordinary and common house”, I tought. The door closed behind me. I turned over, very scared.

-What can I do for you?
I was inside of the house again.

Never Look at the Sun

by:

It was a morning as normal as always.
I was going to the school and I was a little late, so I decided not to go trough the market.
I took a street I've never taken. It didn't have any lights, and still was dark, but I was almost running, so I didn't care.
I kept on walking, but I couldn't see the end of the street.
I turned back: it was darker behind. Or so it seemed.
I started to feel nervous, so I ran. But the street kept infinite.

-This... is never ending.. -I tought.
-... Think so? -Said a man's voice.

I froze. The voice came from the left. But there was a wall in the left.
A man with beard appeared from the right.

-But... I heard him from.. -I tought.
-... The left. Yeah, I know -Said him.

I tried to run, but my legs weren't responding.

-Don't go so early. I have something to show you.
-Wha... What's it?
-Calm down. I'll show you the Truth.

-You gotta be kiddin' me!, you.. -I tought.
-Enough thinking. I'll show It even if you don't want to see It. But first you have to believe it.
-I can't believe such...
-You can and you will. Let's make a little experiment. I'll show you a little part of the Truth.

Said that, he hit me with his hand in the nape. I fainted.

When I woke up, everything was white around me.

-Ask something -the man's voice, which was everywhere, ordered to me.
-Ask? -I said, confused.
-yes, ask -a voice answered.

It wasn't the man's voice. It wasn't even a man's vocie. But it wasn't a woman's voice either. It was as if the voice emerged from me.

-Who... who are you?
-I'm everything and I'm nothing -it answered.
-Am I... dead? -I asked.
-No -the voice answered.
-The man who hit me, who's him? -I asked.
-A messenger I sent to find you.
-Me?...
-yes.
-... Why me?
-You've been chosen. You can see all the Truth, if you dare...
-Truth?
-Yes. Truth.
-i don't know... I don't know what to do! What will happen if I don't want to do it?
-I can't tell you: You won't understand it, unless you knew the Truth.
-Look, I'm late for school, and you're holding me up with puzzles. Where am I?
-You're in the center of the universe.
-I'm in a real hurry and I'd like to leave this place. I don't like it. I feel lonely... Is there a way out of here?
-To leave this place, you must want to know the Truth.
-Then I agree. I want to know It!

...

I woke up and I noticed I was in my bed.

-A dream! -I tought.
I tried to remind the dream, but everything that came to my mind was the last part: "I want to know It!"
I meditated some minutes about what could it be what I wanted to know.

I heard my mother's voice downstairs:
-You're gonna be late for school!
The clock showed 6:40.

I got dressed quickly, and left home running.
-Today is tuesday... Market day! -I tought. So I decided to look for an alternate route.
I took a street I've never taken. I walk some minutes, but I couldn't see the end of the street.
I stopped suddenly. I believed I remembered the situation, as if it had happened before.

-Deja vu -i tought.
-Almost -told me the man of my dream.
I started remembering.
-... And then this guy hit me... -I was thinking that, when a hit in the nape knocked me out.

When I woke up, everything around me was white.
-Ask something -the man's voice ordered to me.
-Wait... you hit me and just before I was... remembering...
-The dream -answered the man-. Now ask something.
-Oh yeah! I remember now! I agreed to know the Truth, didn't I?
-Yes, you did -answered the genderless voice.
-What do I have to do, then?
-Close your eyes a moment when I tell you. Then, when you open them again, you'll be in front of your school. But you won't have to go anymore, because you'll know everything.
-I haven't tought about it... I'm going to know everything and I will be able to de whatever I want. I'll be much more than any man. Does anybody else has seen the Truth?
-Nobody who's still alive.
-Then I'll be the most powerful being on earth! I finally will be able to...!
-Now it's the time. Close your eyes.
I obeyed instantly.

When I opened them, I was, in fact, in front of my school. Or it would have looked like that if I wouldn't know the Truth. It was too much.
I could see absolutely everything of anything that passed in front of me. What it was. What was it thinking, What had it being. Everything.
I closed my eyes desperately, but then I realized I could hear things. And every sound was represented in my brain as a complete knowledge.
I knew the tree's flavor, that tree where a bird sang, that bird was black, even when I have never seen it, and it was 27 centimetes long.
-27 centimeters, 10.6299212598425196850393700787402 inches -I tought without wanting.
I went to a store and took a notebook, the same in which I'm writing this, a pencil and a gun. The staff of the store tried to stop me, so I killed them all. I know what's beyond, anyway.

That happened an hour, three minutes and twenty-eight seconds ago, as I know. I write this as my last testimony. I can't live this way. Nobody can. I know it.
